The Union of Greek Regions is a legal entity under private law. It is supervised by the Minister of Interior, pursuant to the provisions of Law 3852/2010 (“Kallikratis” Programme). It was established in 2011 through the Presidential Decree 74/2011 with the aim of organising cooperation, promotion and representation of the Greek Regions (2nd level of local governance).

Within LIFE-IP AdaptInGR, the Union of Greek Regions promotes and disseminates project results and good practices through its member network, in particular with regard to the pilot (demonstration) projects implemented by the three project Regions. Furthermore, it supports the transference and replication of pilot projects in other Regions and facilitates communication between the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR consortium and Greek and European Regions.
