The “Region” page acts as a portal to LIFE-IP AdaptInGR activities intended for regional authorities.

It specifically offers:

Regions will be able to directly access the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR open geospatial database for climate change through the national adaptation hub. The database will contain climate projections’ datasets and geospatial maps, with a horizontal resolution of about 12km, for the 13 Regions of Greece. The geospatial mapping of changes in main climate parameters (temperature, precipitation, relative humidity, sunshine, solar radiation and wind speed) between the future and the present climate (2021-2100), as well as of the changes in a number of indices such as the extreme temperatures and precipitation and in combined indices related to health (Humidex and PET) and the risk of forest fire (FWI) etc. will greatly contribute to integrating climate risk into regional policies and plans. The LIFE-IP AdaptInGR geospatial database is expected to be constructed by June 2020.

Two RAAPs’ monitoring reports will be elaborated upon the results of the two LIFE-IP AdaptInGR monitoring & evaluation cycles (June 2020- June 2022, July 2022- December 2024). The reports will be available at the “Library” section of the website.

The LIFE-IP AdaptInGR Terms of Reference for the evaluation and revision of the RAAPs will be available at the “Library” section of the website.

At the “Library” section of the website, Regions will be able to download the guidelines on methodologies to streamline the assessment of climate-relevant risks, green infrastructure and nature-based solutions across the pilot demonstrative actions implemented by the 3 LIFE-IP AdaptInGR Regions and across their tenders’ specifications. They will also be able to download the final tender documents and all the studies elaborated within LIFE-IP AdaptInGR.

Regions will have the opportunity to “work shadow” the 3 LIFE-IP AdaptInGR Regions, along the demonstrative projects’ planning and implementation cycle, in order to acquire the necessary technical knowledge to replicate similar projects back home. The procedures and criteria to select the “work-shadowing” Regions will be announced on the “News” section of the website.

The LIFE-IP AdaptInGR guidelines for adapting Regions to climate change will be available at the “Library” section of the website.

Regions will be able to directly access the national adaptation hub and get adequate tools and information to plan and implement climate resilient policies, plans, actions and measures. A beta release of the hub is planned for late 2020.

The LIFE-IP AdaptInGR 4-year-long regional capacity building programme starts in 2021 and aims to provide adequate information and know-how to the full range of regional adaptation stakeholders. The elected officials and the personnel of the Regions will be able to find information on the dates, venues, agendas and application process at the “Events” section of the website.

Information on available funding sources and instruments, including Green Fund calls, suitable for implementation of adaptation projects and measures at regional level, will be published at the “News” and “Library” sections of the website.

The elected officials and the personnel of Regions could subscribe to the project newsletter and stay up to date on LIFE-IP AdaptInGR activities.
