The events of the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR project continue in the North Aegean Region
The 6th Regional Conference of the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR project for the North Aegean Region will take place on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in the Regional Council Hall in Mytilini (Koundouriotou 1), with the ability of online participation through the "ZOOM" Platform.
The purpose of the event is to inform and raise awareness of the citizens of the Northern Aegean regarding the adaptation of their Region to climate change, through the presentation of the relevant "Regional Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change" (PESPKA) and the main sectors affected by climate change.
In the 1st Session of the Conference, presentations will be made by distinguished scientists, invited guests and representatives of services with an important role in the implementation of the PeSPKA, so that citizens can be informed about the climate changes in their region and, in general, the existing planning for the adaptation of the North Aegean Region to climate change. The Conference will focus on the following climate-vulnerable sectors of the Region:
- Water systems
- Coastal areas and transport infrastructure
- Primary sector and Biodiversity
- Cultural heritage.
In addition, relevant good practices will be presented, as well as recent actions of the civil protection of the Region.
In the 2nd Section of the Conference, informative films will be shown, followed by a discussion with distinguished experts, regarding the issues of adaptation to climate change for the North Aegean Region.
The day is organized under the supervision of the Union of Regions of Greece (ENPE), the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE), the Hellenic Society for Environment and Culture (ELLET), in collaboration with the Region of the North Aegean.
